you're looking at our passion. everyday we get to meet new and wonderfully unique people, in places near and far, who allow us to join them, to connect to the most intimate and emotional caveats of their lives. this isn’t a job. not at all. this is what drives us, what fulfills us, and what brings balance to both our creative passions and our individual worlds.

We are Hinterland Stills, a Photography Collective based out of Seattle, WA. Our photos are a reflection of the intersect we find between genuine moments and a heavy love. Do you travel for weddings?
All the time.

If there are two of you, who shoots what?
For the most part, we photograph every wedding together acting each as two halves, with the exception of smaller more intimate days. Kyle handles all of the correspondence and editing, while Stephen and Kyle handle all of the other fun business stuff.

How many weddings have you shot?
We lost count after a hundred.

Who shot all the work on the front page + blog?
Everything you see on this website is the work of Kyle and/or Stephen.

How many photos do we get in the end?
Each day is a little different, but we usually land at around 400-600. Each edited with our color and style one by one.

Is there an easy way for all the guests to see all the final photos and/or video?
Super easy. You get your own gallery that anyone can view, share, download, or order prints.

Can I see some full galleries?
Absolutely. Shoot us a note and we can find you weddings we've shot that are a close match to yours.

What kind of cameras do you shoot with?
We shoot primarily with Nikon DSLRs, but you might see us with some smaller Leicas, or even a medium format & Polaroid here and there.

Do you bring backup gear?
Quite literally a whole bags worth. Thank goodness for rolly bags.

Do we have rights to print our photos?
For sure. You can use our print shop or you can print them on your own.

How long does it take to get all our photos?
At the most, 8 weeks. But we try to keep it closer to 6.

Do you have business insurance?
Yes. Sometimes the venue requires this, so just let us know and we’ll be happy to provide it.

What types of payment do you accept?
Pretty much any major card, cash and check.

What is required to officially book you?
A signed contract and a 30% retainer/deposit.
